My medium is whatever’s available, my subject matter is too. It’s the process I’m devoted to: the putting together; the constant deciding; the looking, doing, and looking some more. I relish transformation--using common, even humdrum, found materials to get messy and make art that is unexpected, odd or somewhat whimsical in its details. I crave a few minutes to stop, to see something, study it, re-assign pieces of it to something else. I work to get viewers out of their lives, too, even if only for a moment. I want my work to pull on them until they slow down, stop, look, get up close, figure out the processes behind the work, see through one layer down into another.
